Now here is a woman who is known for details! Michele was not only one of our most organized brides but she knew exactly what she wanted (and didn’t want). All the while, she was one of the most genuine and sweetest brides we have had the pleasure of working with.

We got to know both Michele and Robert quite well starting with their engagement shoot and subsequent meetings. They feel absolutely blessed to have found one another after their first date at Cafe Patachou (which happens to be our favorite spot in the city).

Michele and Robert had a heartfelt ceremony at First Baptist. In fact, the flower girl carried the same basket Michele carried as a flower girl when she was a child. Their reception followed at the Marriott Keystone where Michele surprised Robert with oodles of race paraphernalia. He runs the motorsports program for Yokohama Tire Company. The person responsible making sure the day ran smooth was the talented Rebecca Raymond of Event Fantastic.

We wish Michele and Robert our very best and look forward to keeping in close contact.

amy and seth

Generations — nate at 6:14 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2007

Nate was bound for Starlight, Indiana for the third time with the Koetter-Pennington family. We have come to love this family!

The last visit was to shoot the wedding of Brittany and Ryan. This is where the strange twist begins. Brittany and Amy are sisters. Ryan and Seth are brothers. And, yes, they married each other. Two sisters married two brothers. Whew! We were really surprised when we met them initially. But Amy and Seth thought their siblings would hit it off so well they introduced them both…and that was that!

Anyway, Amy and Seth are awesome. Very soon after she got pregnant she called to ask if we could shoot pregnancy images and a baby shower. Nate was excited to be able to shoot most of the images on their property…even in their fabulous nursery. These two will make such great parents…we wish them the very best!

claire anne

Generations — tiffany at 11:25 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Nate recently did a photo shoot of newborn Claire Anne…the pride and joy of one of our previous bridal couples. They are absolutely adorable with Claire. Mark and Anne are two of the kindest people. You can tell when you talk to them what a blessing she is and how much joy she has brought to them in just two months.

We designed this announcement for them as a flat card. I played on the dots from the blanket. But then again, I am a total sucker for polka dots.

viewing cards

Cool Stuff — tiffany at 7:59 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2007

We provided viewing cards at each wedding last year but discontinued doing so in 2007. A groom recently requested that we provide them at his upcoming wedding. So…if you are interested in us providing them for your wedding, please let me know. There is no cost to you. We typically leave them around the bar, cocktail tables, bathrooms, etc. The front and back of the card are depicted below.

happy anniversary

We would like to congratulate two couples this week on reaching yet another milestone in their marriage.

Katie and Jordan Riggs were married May 28, 2005 at St. Joan of Arc with a beautiful reception following at the Indiana Historical Society. We have fortunately kept in touch with Katie and Jordan over the years because we have shot several of the friends’ weddings. They recently had a daughter, Riley. We cannot wait to get all of our girls together.

Sara and Cale Reeves were married May 31, 2003 at Brown County State Park. They had a breathtaking ceremony. One of the most unique details of their wedding, and still one of our favorites were the pale blue shoes and turquoise jewelery Sara wore. She and Cale were indeed a rare couple, and we enjoyed working with them. I love the name Cale too!

jen and todd

Todd and I are longtime friends. During the best years of my young adult life we were roommates. Another of our roommates and I nickednamed our townhouse “Club Davies” in his honor. It is hard to believe, but that was nearly six years ago. It is amazing how much has changed, how quickly time has flown by, and how much we have grown up.

Todd is gifted in many ways. He is one of the most friendly, happy, loyal, jovial, funny, relaxed, and honest people I have been fortunate to know. He is also one of the most gifted Cooks in Chicago.

Todd and Jen held their ceremony and reception at Katherine Legge Memorial Park. Due to the rain, we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful grounds on the estate, but the images still turned out wonderful.

Todd brought in many of his employees and friends from the cooking industry to prepare a special meal for the occasion. This was not wedding food, but a masterpiece smorgasbord (the food at my wedding was a far second). Some of the items were so delicious the staff had to guard and ration portions.

The pastries were the best I have ever eaten. I am not a big fan of sweets, but the cupcakes were extraordinary. If you are having a wedding in Chicago, be sure to contact Brooke Dailey and Gina Howie of Lovely Bakeshop.

Another of Todd’s friends, Bob Hartwig, created the most impressive centerpieces I have ever seen (image with swan at top). It was made entirely of sugar. I am guessing at least 100 pounds of sugar was molded, shaped, colored, and formed to create this art piece.

The reception was a blast with a ton of drinking and crazy dancing.

P.S. Todd really wanted to wear light blue tuxes for the wedding. Jen, for obvious reasons said no.

kelly and spencer

Relationships — tiffany at 3:50 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2007

Kelly and Spencer are getting married in just two weeks on June 9th. It is hard to believe we are half way through the year already!

Their ceremony and reception are being held at the very same place they met at a mutual friend’s wedding…the fabulous Eiteljorg. There are few spots in the city that can compare. It is architecturally amazing! And…Sara Bean is so enjoyable to work with.

We are so excited to work with these two. They are a ton of fun and have great ideas for images. Be sure to keep your eyes out for their wedding images in mid-June. We took the following images on the campus of IU where both graduated.

ridge trio

Generations — tiffany at 3:17 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Nate joined Bob Ridge of IndyVisual and his family for a day at one of our favorite parks in the city…Holiday Park (62nd and Springmill). Bob and his wife, Chris, are blessed with THREE boys…Matthew, Michael and Andrew. I think you will be able to tell from these images that 1) they are ALL BOY, 2) they like to show-off in front of a camera no matter what kind, and 3) if anyone has a ‘mini-me’, Bob has three…they look exactly like him…even the haircuts!

We appreciate Bob assisting us in developing the videos for our new web site and always look forward to the weddings we work together.
