There are certain things we remember about each wedding we have the privilege to photograph. The moment for me at this wedding was being alone with Jennifer just moments before she walked down the long aisle of the church by herself. I could sense behind the closed doors of the awesome entrance to the sanctuary that we were not alone. I would like to believe that her father whom she lost years ago was with her. It was a spiritual moment just watching her collect her strength.

We were excited to shoot Jennifer and Brad’s wedding in Chicago but got nervous when we heard that Indianapolis and Chicago were going to get hit with a mean winter blizzard. So…we headed up a day early.

We instantly had a connection with Jennifer and Brad when they realized we were a ‘brother-sister team.’ Their siblings were the only attendants they had…her brother and his sister.

There were many great aspects to this wedding…here were some of our favorites: gorgeous white snow (just what you hope for at a winter wedding), a beautiful bride with a gown made by her grandmother and worn by her mother, a breathtaking church, the bride’s cousin who accompanied them with bagpipes, an absolutely perfect venue, a diverse and fun guest list, impeccably dressed women (and lots of sexy shoes), a rockin’-not-kiddin’-you band, and a groom that was reluctant to have his picture taken that kind of came around by the end.

Danielle called us and a few days later we were shooting her senior pictures at the Indiana State Museum.  Within minutes I told her she was a cross between Hayden Panettiere and Paris Hilton.  Danielle has the best smile and a contagious laugh.  We equally enjoyed getting to know her sister and had to include some fun images of her as well.  Enjoy!

P.S. Nate took the funniest image of me shooting…it doesn’t even look like I have eyes!

trash the dress

Cool Stuff — tiffany at 4:18 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2008

We began and concluded our 2007 wedding season with two fabulous shoots that spurred both our creativity and excitement for our business. First the Sexy Shoot and lastly the Trash The Dress Shoot.

Trashing the Dress is not a new concept. In fact, our intention was not to destroy the gown but have complete creative freedom with a willing bride (aka model), in an awesome gown, in some off-the-beaten-path settings in which we would not typically photography a bride.

Thankfully, we were blessed with a beautiful late-Autumn day. And…we had a blast.
We would like to thank Tracy Heine of La Bella Bride and Bliss Boutique for outfitting us with a beautiful gown for the day. We imagine it was difficult to envision what we had in mind and appreciate her trust. An enormous thank you to Bob Ridge of IndyVisual for joining us for the day. The video you created is sensational. We are grateful for your talent and friendship. Larry Bacher for the use of a kickin’ car. And, finally thank you to Sara Bauer for being a great muse.

We wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!

cara

seniors — nate at 11:59 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2008

Cara was well-prepared for her senior shoot. After hair and makeup at Platinum Hair Design, she felt fantastic and well-stylized. We all agreed that she had a striking resemblance to Anne Hathaway. We really enjoyed spending time with Cara and her mother. A special thanks to Sweet Lucinda’s and Plum’s Upper Room for letting us use their fabulous space to shoot in. Enjoy!
