risa and tom

Marriages — tiffany at 10:46 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Where to start? First of all…we just love this couple, their family, and their friends.  We had so much fun working with this group from start to finish.  Risa is a ball of energy that is always smiling and laughing.  In fact, to get her to take an image without an enormous grin was a challenge.  She was simply too happy (and that is a good way to be).  Tom, on the other hand, has a quiet charisma that is just his own.  Besides that, he has soulful eyes. I loved the way that he gazed at his bride.

West Baden Springs, the location Risa and Tom selected for their wedding, is out of a picture book.  It is described as the eighth Wonder of the World.  The rich history of this spectacular location is very interesting.  Luckily after days and days of rain, the weather was perfect.

The day began with Abby Lynn Prather doing makeup and Danie Patterson working hair for the bridesmaids.  As the women were practicing their choreographed dance to ‘jaiho,’ the guys wrapped up a game of golf.  We were joined by Brandon and Cybil of B&C Digital which we love working with from time to time.

Due to the high volume of rain the previous few days, the decision was made to bring the ceremony indoors.  Melody Carr, along with her team from West Baden, perfected the setup.  It was held in the lobby of the hotel…which is no typical lobby.  I thought the ceremony was particularly special as the Jewish traditions were clearly described on the back of the programs making everyone feel a part of it.

The cake made by Blu Boy Chocolate was amazing…it was made to reflect the dome of West Baden upside down.  The lights were dimmed low at the reception which brought on the party and dancing led by Endless Summer Band.

We wish Risa and Tom the very best.  We look forward to seeing them again soon.  Enjoy!
