payal and vaishal | reception

Marriages — tiffany at 1:18 am on Sunday, October 31, 2010

It was an extraordinary weekend that undoubtedly left everyone happily exhausted.  Under the guidance of  Tara Moser from Lola Event Productions, the reception held at Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort, was eclectic and bright.  It really was awesome.

So…our series of six finally comes to an end.  We absolutely adore Payal and Vaishal (aka Indian James Bond), and their respective families that helped us out so much throughout the weekend.  We felt like old friends by the time we left.

A special thanks to our assistant, Meredith, for enduring the weekend with this brother-sister team.

payal and vaishal | ceremony

By this point, we admired Indian attire so much, that the Payal and Vaishal actually found outfits for us to wear during the ceremony.  Talk about making some photographers feel special!

If we had been impressed with the days leading up to the marriage ceremony, this took it to entirely a new level.  There was so much happening our cameras rarely made it to our hips.  The attire clearly is magnificent.  The decor was stunning.  The success of the ceremony was magically coordinated by Tara Moser, of Lola Event Productions.

payal and vaishal | mehndi

The Mehndi was one of the aspects of an Indian wedding we were most looking forward to.  It is extraordinary to watch these designs created effortlessly.  Typically the night before the wedding ceremony, the bride and women guests are decorated with henna.  Afterwards, there are more performances given by the families that are both heartfelt and comical.  Much fun was had.

payal and vaishal | groom’s pithi

Marriages — tiffany at 1:40 pm on Saturday, October 30, 2010

On the second day of the festivities, the bride and groom are separated.  For Vaishal, the Pithi began early on Saturday morning at the home of the his parents.  The Pithi is a series of ceremonies that concludes with the groom being covered in an orange paste by his friends and family.  Once again, we watched in awe as the traditions unfolded.  We were also amazed at how closely we could photograph and were encouraged to be an intimate part of the event.
