While this might go down as the wedding where the photographers had to dive into the Monument Circle Fountain in search of a Jimmy Choo…there was much more to it than that.
From the moment we met Erica and Jason…we clicked. I believe all Nate had to do was show Jason his all-time favorite image he took of Lance Armstrong at the 2004 Tour de France. Nate caught one of the legs of the tour in France just days before his wedding. His last hoorah!
For lack of a better description…Jason is King Bicyclist. He has been the coach of the cutters for years at IU, works in the bicycling industry for Zipp (for an ignorant person like me…it means really fast tires), hangs with cyclists, and rides whenever he can, and has the legs to prove it.
Erica and I actually sat beside the bike talk with wedding planner, Monica Richard from Detail & Design, and talked important stuff…like weddings. Erica is that visionary type bride…she had the picture of the wedding all in her brain. She just needed Monica to make sure the vision came to reality. And it did…flawlessly (with the exception of our Jimmy Choo dive).
The day began at the Columbia Club for hair by Saavy Salon and makeup by Kiralee Hubbard of EyeMax. And as if a better backdrop could have been planned…there was a BIKE race around the Circle for them to watch!
On to the Hilbert Circle Theater for their first meeting and ceremony. We had a great time touring the city with the wedding party that was filled with a lot of personalities, and of course…a lot of bike talk.
Stunning ceremony in the theatre! A special touch Erica and Jason included was hand written messages on the back of the place cards as the guests left the ceremony.
On to the reception at the Indianapolis Arts Garden where Gene Huddleson of Detail & Design created a vivacious look, including lime green, orange, and citrus yellow linens. The clear chiavari chairs looked amazing when the sunset hit them through the wall of windows.
After several heartfelt toasts, the Someday Band kicked it into full gear for this fantastic duo and their friends. And, has anyone ever been known to reject a Flying Cupcake? It was a perfect wedding. Congratulations to you both. Enjoy!
