Marriages — tiffany at 4:24 pm on Friday, October 29, 2010

The experience of photographing the marriage between Payal and Vaishal was nothing short of mesmerizing.  We were in awe of the colors, the movement, the jewels, the food, the traditions, and the performances the entire night.  The festivities began on Friday with the Garba which is a series of dances around performed around a circle by women and men of all ages.  Even though the movements are repetitive, it is intriguing to watch how each person makes the dance personal and emotional.  The energy is contagious!  The Garba progresses for several hours and ends with a ‘stick dance’.  The Indian culture is so rich with traditions that is incredible to observe.  We are so grateful to Payal and Vaishal’s families for their trust, education, and most importantly, for making us feel like friends that we there to capture a captivating event.

We have been photographing this boy, now young man, for years.  It is such a treat to see what a cool guy he has turned out to be.

Cool Stuff — tiffany at 10:09 pm on Friday, October 15, 2010

It isn’t quite our thing but when good friends and owners of No Name Montessori asked us to take the annual school pictures, how could we resist?  Nate and I both send our girls to this school, so we got a chance to meet all of their friends.  I just had to post some of the images.  We have great respect for photographers that photograph small children day after day.   Some of these faces are just classic.
