I nominate the kids in this family for a future Gap advertisement.  They are adorable.  We are packed full for the next few months with portrait sessions for the Holiday Season.  I hope to have some sample holiday cards ready for viewing soon.  Thanks to the Schuchman Family for a great afternoon.  Enjoy!

Deanna and Pat are one of our favorite couples.  We photographed their wedding several years ago and always look forward to seeing them.  Their family thought it was a time for an extended family portrait with the addition of their first two grandchildren.  Enjoy!

I had to look up the year Erin and Josh were married…it seemed so long ago. However, it was only in 2004 that they had a beautiful wedding at Meridian Street Methodist and the Omni Severin.

Now look where they are headed very soon…PARENTHOOD! We are thrilled every time we bump into them around town. Erin has one of the warmest smiles. We are very excited to hear about their upcoming announcement.

Thanks…Erin and Josh…for letting us capture another moment in your lives. Enjoy!

I think it is safe to assume that father Mitch has been outnumbered for years in his household!  He and Nate especially had some chuckles over the ‘ripped-jean’ look.  And is it me or is it hard to find the mother in these images because Tammy looks so young?  Anyway, they are a warm family that exudes a great deal of respect for one another.  It was a pleasure to finally photograph them together.  We wish Danielle great success as she heads off to college.  Enjoy!

our ellen

Some may remember the story of Ellen, aka number 18. Nonetheless, we remember, always will, and our thankful for her friendship which developed from a simple photo shoot. She has been etched into our hearts.

As a 40th wedding anniversary to her parents, Ellen, her brother, and her husband were photographed. Here is more than a thank you from Ellen. She is an eloquent, emotional writer.

During this last hospitalization I came to a true crossroad that they talk about in movies: there was not a white light and no dead relatives beckoned my name, but I do know this: For the first time, with my body tired and sick, racked with a systemic staph infection and the knowledge that I can no longer work or drive, that my beloved hobbies are becoming increasingly difficult, that at least two more surgeries are on the books and no cure is in sight, that I had a choice to make. With 100% mental clarity, the numbing pacificity of narcotics worn off, I had to make an inventory of all of the reasons that I had to fight - because the time had come that it would truly have been easier to give in to the infection and let my body follow the path that all of my vital signs and lab work indicated I was headed.

But for whatever reason, that inventory of reasons to fight was pretty long. And for that reason, I write this to you now.

But truly, that is not the point. I hydrate through a tube. I would probably mess up any toilet training child due to the rerouting of my anatomy. I take 68 pills a day and 32 shots a week. But somehow - and I don’t know how you do it - I look at those pictures….and as long as I don’t study them TOO long, I truly feel beautiful.

Thank you for that gift. I’ll treasure it as long as I live. That for a few hours on August 18th, 2008, I felt beautiful. You are artists and gift givers. And I can never repay you for that except to give you my most sincere thank you. I’m glad to call you my friends.

It is safe to assume that if you have any of my children for a teacher, you won’t get a shiny apple at the end of the school year but a portrait sitting.  We were very excited to shoot Jodi and her husband because they were celebrating their first anniversary.  And aren’t they cute?  Jodi was the best teacher…Briggs had to visit her on open house to give her a giant hug.

Abby contacted us over a year ago in hopes of getting pictures of her one-year old daughter, Ella.  Low and behold we had to reschedule the photo session when she learned she was again expecting.  So…skip a year ahead and we are photographing now a family of four!  Abby is close friends with one of our first brides YEARS ago.  We were thrilled to capture this time in their lives.  Enjoy!

kacie’s farm

Nate and I are not originally from Indiana,  Truth be told, we are kind of city kids, however we have grown to love Indiana’s landscape considerably.  In fact, we really have a ‘thing’ for old barns and vast fields of crops.  We were pleased to have the opportunity to shoot a pregnancy shoot on a local farm which included all the cool stuff…a silo, tractor, corn, etc.  They provided great backdrops for a very personal session for Kacie and their soon to be baby!
