What a happy and gentle couple!

The day began for the gals at Laura’s parents with Salon 01 in full force for hair and makeup.  We loved the matching robes all of the gals were given to lounge around in…cute touch.

With the help of wedding planner, Cassandra Stevning of Leslie Jones Weddings, Laura and Andrew had a beautiful wedding at St. John and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Other key elements of the vendor team were:  Posh PetalsHeavenly Sweets, Wendy Reed Band, and Antique Limo.

We were looking forward to Brittany and Carter’s wedding since we booked it.  We just clicked.  Love them!  They are a great couple.  She is spunky and easy to talk to.  Carter is quiet and easy.

The day was perfectly executed with Tonya Shadoan of Circle City Planners.  They began their wedding day at The Canterbury with Kiralee Hubbard from EyeMax doing hair and makeup for the gals.  There was such a surge of emotion when Brittany and her father saw each other once she was dressed in her bridal attire.  It was hard not to cry along with them.  We love being able to capture those moments that are so unexpected.

The Canterbury lobby provided the perfect backdrop for their first meeting.  It was so cool of Brittany and Carter to build time into their itinerary for just the two of them to cruise around the city alone with us.  They really got the chance to enjoy each other before the hustle of the day began with their friends and family.  Plus, whenever we can have more time to play…we love it!

The ceremony was held at Christ Church along the Circle.  We are convinced it is the most well-taken care of church in the city.  It is impeccably clean.  Following the ceremony we had some more fun with the wedding party.  The reception was a full-on party overlooking the city at the Skyline Club.  The decor was just as Brittany had imagined…full of sparkle and purples.

Check back in a week for the wedding album design.  Congrats…Brittany and Carter!  Enjoy!

Loretta and Caleb met at a friend’s wedding just two years ago.  Love was definitely in the air because they dated long distance until Loretta relocated to Portland in the Winter.  There is something so sweet and innocent about this couple…it came out perfectly in the images.

They had a beautiful, simple wedding.  The ceremony was at a small, old church called Bethlehem Methodist Church with the reception following at Forest Park in Noblesville.  Along with wedding planner (and sister ;) , Jen Barnette they created a perfect summer wedding.

Special thanks to Leah with The Mill Top for letting us ‘stop in’ to let Loretta get dressed.  We cannot wait to see the venue once the construction is complete.

Congratulations Loretta and Caleb!  Enjoy…

Ame and Lee are the most to Earth couple. In fact, photographing their wedding was like being amongst friends as we shot his twin brother’s wedding just a few years ago.

Thankfully, it was a beautiful day which worked perfectly for their outdoor ceremony at Butler University. Eventful Planning was onsite to insure all went well throughout the day.  At the reception in the Reilly Room, Chris Burger, from Copper Moon Entertainment kept the dance floor packed the entire evening.

Congratulations Ame and Lee!  check back in a week or so for your wedding album design.  Enjoy!

Christine and David were married on what started as a beautiful Indiana Spring day until Mother Nature decided to rain.  Even though they were forced to move their ceremony indoors, the Indiana State Museum provided to be a lovely alternative with amazing natural light.

For the first time, we witnessed a bride having to actually get sewed into her gown (happens at the Oscars, right?) after there was a significant challenge with the zipper.  Christine took it all in stride.  The moment she saw her groom, it was if all the challenges just faded away.  These two dentists (who else would give Listerine and tooth brushes as guest gifts!), were full of smiles all day long.  Their families, friends, and guests were so pleasant.  We enjoyed every moment.

We enjoyed collaborating for the first time with videography team from Jet Kaiser Films, and with floral designer, Tiffany Mullens of Circle City Planners.  As always, thanks to the awesome team at the ISM!

In ten years of photographing, no two weddings have been alike.  But Ashleigh and Bryan’s wedding even took that a few steps further.  It was perfectly…THEM!

One of my favorite quotes when she answered what made them unique was, “Between Bryan’s banjo-playing and my kimono-wearing, our neighbors always have something to talk about!”  It immediately gave me a visual…

Both Ashleigh and Bryan looked perfect for their wedding day which began at Christ Church Cathedral and followed at  Trader’s Point Creamery.  She wore a short, vintage dress with a purple veil (LOVED IT!) and Bryan wore a khaki three-piece suit (perfect for the venue).  Some of the uniqueness of the event included:  Bazbeaux Pizza (yum!), old wooden chairs, banjo playing, pin-tail on the donkey, bride and groom paper custom-made paper dolls for each guest, bridesmaids that were given the flexibility to make their attire suit them (check it out below), the bride changing into cowboy boots, etc.

Check back in a few days for their album design.  Our warmest congratuations to Ashleigh and Bryan.  Enjoy!

We first meet KT when she was a bridesmaid in Sara and Marc’s wedding. Sara wore, hands-down, my favorite dress in nine years of shooting weddings.

I loved shooting the engagement shoot for KT and Dave in their adopted city of Boston. The weather did not cooperate, but we still captured some great shots around the Sonesta Hotel, parts of the Freedom Trail, and an Italian neighborhood.

Upon arrival to our beautiful destination, the Punta Cana Paradisus Resort, we quickly settled into coversation with their friends and family (an astonishing total of 80 plus made the trip).

The wedding day began at the Resort Spa where hair and make-up slowly progressed. The slow pace of Island life is wonderful…but not when you have a handsome couple you are eager to photograph. The chance of rain was also threatening to relocate the ceremony from the beach and hinder my scouted shooting locations. Getting a lot of pressure from the resort staff, KT insisted they would take their chance with the weather and continue as planned outdoors.

Once KT was serviced at the spa, she dressed poolside in a soothing cabana. As we moved about the grounds near the beach, it was fun seeing the contrast of formal attire mixing with all the folks sunning themselves.

The ceremony, with heavy cloud cover, was beautifully officiated by KT’s uncle. It was funny watching the resort guests and beach combers stop to watch the vows.

Immediately following the ceremony we took family shots on the beach as well as a few couples. After the cocktail hour, the guest took a short walk along the beach to the Gabi beach bar, for the reception. The outdoor bar/sunbathing area had been magnificently transformed with strung lights, white fabric stretched between palm trees, and the groves of the DJ.

The wedding party made their entrance with great flair, creativity, and spontaneity. The three-man leap frog train was our favorite. The party never stopped. The music soared with the spirits of all those in attendance. My favorite subject to photograph throughout the night was KT’s grandfather. For a man in his 80′s (just an educated guess) he was in amazing physical shape. He danced, ran, and even did a cartwheel (the latter was a failed attempt, but was a memory no one will forget). He is an example of what I hope to do 45 years from now.

The highlight of the evening came near the end. Back in Dave’s days at the University of Michigan, he and his friends came up with a creative party theme, the celebration of Michael Bolton’s birthday (February 26, 1953). Coincidentally, Dave and KT scheduled their wedding day on this sacred date. Benjamin, wannabe President of Mr. Bolton’s fan club, had t-shirts made to commemorate the event.

The long day ended lounging on the padded cabanas near the bar resting and talking. Pure perfection!

P.S. I would like to thank my mother and sister for watching our children while we were away.
