This year marks the 65th Anniversary of the worst Naval disaster in US history.

At 12:14 a.m. on July 30, 1945, the USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in the Philippine Sea and sank in 12 minutes. Of 1,196 men on board, approximately 300 went down with the ship. The remainder, about 900 men, were left floating in shark-infested waters with no lifeboats and most with no food or water. The ship was never missed, and by the time the survivors were spotted by accident four days later only 316 men were still alive.

Each year the survivors and comrades gather.

Nathan was overwhelmingly humbled and honored to photograph the following heroes of our nation.

Thank you to AJ Ploughe of the Columbia Club for giving us this incredible honor.

Little to be said…other than…she is smoking hot.  Kiralee of EyeMax did an awesome job on the makeup.  It was quite a gift for her groom the morning of the wedding.  Here is just a glimpse.

We were looking forward to Brittany and Carter’s wedding since we booked it.  We just clicked.  Love them!  They are a great couple.  She is spunky and easy to talk to.  Carter is quiet and easy.

The day was perfectly executed with Tonya Shadoan of Circle City Planners.  They began their wedding day at The Canterbury with Kiralee Hubbard from EyeMax doing hair and makeup for the gals.  There was such a surge of emotion when Brittany and her father saw each other once she was dressed in her bridal attire.  It was hard not to cry along with them.  We love being able to capture those moments that are so unexpected.

The Canterbury lobby provided the perfect backdrop for their first meeting.  It was so cool of Brittany and Carter to build time into their itinerary for just the two of them to cruise around the city alone with us.  They really got the chance to enjoy each other before the hustle of the day began with their friends and family.  Plus, whenever we can have more time to play…we love it!

The ceremony was held at Christ Church along the Circle.  We are convinced it is the most well-taken care of church in the city.  It is impeccably clean.  Following the ceremony we had some more fun with the wedding party.  The reception was a full-on party overlooking the city at the Skyline Club.  The decor was just as Brittany had imagined…full of sparkle and purples.

Check back in a week for the wedding album design.  Congrats…Brittany and Carter!  Enjoy!

We are thrilled to be a part of the intimate backyard wedding in Zionsville that Sarah and Chris are planning alongside Darcie Kornmeyer of Circle City Planners.   It is going to be a beautiful Autumn wedding with these two that look absolutely stunning together. Congrats!

I was so excited to get back in touch with my ‘big sis’ through Facebook after years of not seeing each other.  Wow…what a gorgeous family.  These three boys were by far the kindest, most polite we have worked with.  We had so much fun with them.  Nate and I were grateful they made their way down from Michigan for the shoot.  I hope we get to see them more in the future.  Enjoy!

These three are like ‘three peas in a pod’.  They looked perfectly in synch when they pulled up for their portrait shoot.  They have great smiles, are simple and fun.  Congrats to another year…
