a valentine’s wish

Cool Stuff — tiffany at 12:30 am on Friday, February 12, 2010

For the past three years we have challenged ourselves to do something unique for Valentine’s Day.  It is kind of our inspirational treat.  Afterall, a good portion of our business revolves around love and romance…why not throw some serious spice into it as well?

This year we couldn’t resist an amazing snowfall in Indianapolis.  Then we just had to quickly find a willing and brave model to endure the elements. We hope you enjoy a little peak at our adventure.

We purposefully do not post our Boudoir Sessions online but should you be interested in providing your husband a little something for ‘his eyes only’…let us know.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

katie and tom

Relationships — tiffany at 5:36 pm on Monday, February 8, 2010

Katie and Tom have one of those stories that we just became engrossed in as they told it.  Katie, a few years older (sorry Katie) than Tom became acquainted with each other through her younger brother.  It just so happens that this couple met in the comfort of her very own home.  Tom and Katie’s brother are the best of friends.  What may have been an awkward situation turned out to be a blessing for them all when Tom proposed on Longboat Key.

Katie and Tom, along with the assistance of their wedding planner Darcie Kornmeyer of Circle City Planners, are planning a fabulous wedding at St. Peter and Paul with a reception following in the Grand Hall of the Scottish Rite Cathedral.

These fans of ’slapstick humor movies’ are going to be a lot of fun the day of their wedding.  We are looking forward to a great day in September.  Congrats!

And a look at their save the dates below (front, inside spread, back).  I never post these but thought it would be fun to include.

barbara and evan

Marriages — tiffany at 4:29 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Barbara and Evan are an amazingly comfortable and warm couple.  She is sophisticated and sweet.  He is kind of goofy yet very outgoing and sensitive.  In fact, they just had a lot of fun on their wedding day from the moment they saw each other.

As soon as we witnessed Barbara put on her Reem Acra gown it was if she was always meant to be a bride.  She was stunning.

Some of our favorite moments from their wedding had to be:

- Having the backdrop of the majestic Columbia Club to take pictures on a blustery winter day.

- The intimate ceremony at Christ Church along the Circle in Indianapolis. It was a first for us in this most impeccably taken care of sanctuary.

- Evan’s toast to his bride.  We are not quite sure there was a dry eye among the guests but his toast had to do with a rock and Barbara turning a corner.  It was perfect!

- Barbara’s father giving a heartfelt thank you to the pillar of their family, his wife.

Other vendors involved included:  florals by JP Parker, cake by Heavenly Sweets, and entertainment by Blair & Co.

haley and daniel

Marriages — tiffany at 2:51 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010

This California couple are die hard Indianapolis Colts fans.  So, it was with such a shock and joy to be let upon the field at Lucas Oil Stadium for some quick snapshots unexpectedly with the wedding party. Haley and Daniel thought it was better than the ceremony which was hard to compete with at the beautiful St. John Church just a few blocks away from stadium.  Followed by the reception at the Hyatt Indianapolis which was a first for us to photograph at.

Haley and Daniel were such a pleasure to work with…she is thoughtful and outgoing.  Daniel has a humorous confidence about him.  Together…they are adorable.

Some of our favorite aspects to this wedding:  Chris Cromwell of Bloomz beautiful bouquets, Haley’s spicy blue Valentino heels, the surprise groom’s cake by Classic Cakes designed to look like a six pack of Old Style, and the best of all..dueling pianos from Howl at the Moon as the entertainment for the reception.

We didn’t meet Jennifer until months after she booked us for her wedding.  Honestly, I never thought she would call back.  It was one of those days that I shouldn’t have even picked up the phone with several kids home sick.  But I took the call and wound up writing my notes in blue crayon on a scrap piece of paper while carrying around at least one child.

I brought the scrap paper along to the wedding just for a great laugh.  She thought the conversation had clearly gone much better than I while I muted out the cries of children.  In any case, we began to forge a nice friendship…we especially loved her mother from the moment we met…sincere, kind and just plain cute.

Often times, Indiana is full of surprises so it was a warm welcome that on this November day (YES…only one more wedding to post from 2009) that it was beautiful out.  The day was perfect for Jennifer and Brian beginning with the gals getting ready at the Omni Severin, then walking to St. John for a lovely ceremony.   I now know to bring along a Tide stick to every wedding because we had remove a stain that mysteriously appeared before the ceremony.

Anyway, after the ceremony concluded we cruised around the museum campus and Capitol with a terrific wedding party which included a lot of family.

The reception was at the gorgeous Omni Severin where Palmer/Kelley Designs and Flip Miller Band all participated greatly in making it a fabulous event.

I am going to go out on a limb here…if you have never had the chance to bite into a cupcake from Sweet Lucinda’s…you are missing out on a little early slice of heaven.  Literally, there just ain’t nothin’ better.  So, needless to say, we have become quite good friends with Courtney, owner/baker/founder/creator of Sweet Lucinda’s.  Her eclectic style and vivacious personality just drew us in.

We are thrilled to hear any day what has ‘popped out of her oven’.  At this point, she is overdue.  An early congratulations to our favorite cupcake gal!
